BackBeat Studio is one of the best equipped and top DRUM SCHOOLS in Vancouver B.C. Canada. Brian Anthony Rask is a proud member of the Vic Firth P.D.T. program.
BackBeat Studio DRUM SCHOOL is for contemporary drummers who want to pursue excellence exploring all types of playing while defining their own personal sound and performance style. Beginner, intermediate and advanced drummers receive complete one-on-one kit instruction! All Drum students will learn to perform various compositions and drumming styles using "music minus drums" audio CD's. As part of their drumset studies they are recorded in a studio session laying down drum tracks along with the "music minus drums" CD. The studio performance is then mixed down and mastered to CD to document their musical progress. Also each private studio lesson is recorded live onto CD for the student to keep and have for their home practice and review. In-home instruction is also available for private students.
CERTIFICATES OF ACHIEVMENT
are awarded to all students in recognition of their
drumming progress and musical accomplishments on behalf of "Vic Firth" and "BackBeat Drum School"
A Unique Music Program called
"WORLD DRUM FUSION WORKSHOPS"
Drum Group Studies
BackBeat Studio is combining its resources, the Drum School and Project Recording facilities to offer a unique music program called the "WORLD DRUM FUSION WORKSHOPS". All levels welcome - no music experience required just a love of rhythm. This workshop series will focus on the groups exploration and performance of WORLD DRUM FUSION rhythms as a drum ensemble. The students will develop musicality and learn fundamental playing techniques as well as rhythmic memory. On the 8th and final workshop the group will record a studio CD of the WORLD DRUM FUSIONrhythmic compositions that they have created and learned over the previous 7 workshops. There will be 8 weekly workshops, 2-hours each.
Besides the students having alot of fun with the group, a deep musical appreciation of World Drumming will be gained as well as a new found knowledge of different drumming styles and their origins. They will develop the skills of being in a band and achieving an artistic goal working together as a group to record a studio performance CD at the end of the workshop series. Each student will receive a produced CD to keep with their picture on it with credits and info documenting the groups achievement. Study materials and hand percussion instruments will be supplied. Students are welcome to bring their own instruments as well. Workshops are limited to a max. of 8 students for intense group study dynamics and one-on-one interaction.
