Yesenia pronounced "Jesenia" is a jazz fusion group from Canada's pacific coast city Vancouver B.C. Yesenia was formed in 1996 by drummer Brian Anthony Rask and guitarist Lew Sammartino. Yesenia performs a wide hybrid of traditional to contemporary music styles incorporating elements of Blues, R&B, Jazz, Latin and Rock. Their artistic influences are as diverse and colorful as the music they play! Yesenia is a group that offers up spirited interpretations of jazz standards and popular songs along with their own compositions with classic ensemble sounds that are distinct in this day and age. Yesenias' live performance is a rare treat for anyone who enjoys music that is festive.
